Time-Opps?

“Time? This is no time to talk about time, we don’t have the time” – Cmdr. Deanna Troi, Star Trek: First Contact
Computers: OK
Weather Station: OK (late)
Radio Clock: not yet (expected in 24 hours)
Cell Phone: OK (late)
GE Auto Clock: nope
VCR: OK
Router/Switches: nope, and I’m not going to check that damn box! (never have)
Dad’s Coffee Pot: 2 hours behind (manually set, hmm… something is up there)
I now must do the math to make the wrong devices right again. Why do these devices not support Atlantic time?

  1. First a comment regarding time and such……………………………………………………………
I’ve been an East Coast resident my whole life, but have acted as a consultant working in eight states over a fifteen year period…………………………………….
    To your point:
The AP/PM 12 hour format has caused problems for me ranging from My VCR, (no TIVO here yet), not taping a show I programed or taping the wrong show… thru the worst; a burp in the power resets my alarm clock and I fail to notice the little dot that identifies am or pm – making me later for work than usual
……………………………………………………………………………………..Also to your point of DST:
……………………………………………………………………………………..From the moment of dread that we start/move into DST, I am constantly looking forward to regaining that lost hour of sleep. This year being a prolonged yearning of course.
……………………………………………………………………………………..From a timezone perspective, and I’m not suggesting your position on timezones at all. I did like feeling that 9-5 Central, while working in Midwestern states, was just like the 9-5 back on the East coast. At the same time I took advantage of the 2-3 hour time difference, depending on where I was, when I would reach out and call my friend / collegue / even potential b/f, etc… Matt.
……………………………………………………………………………………..I’m not sure your e-mail is on this site, but if it is my next contact will be thru it, otherwise I’ll post it here and hope you are cool with that =) It is more relative to some earlier posts, your honesty and openness being quite refreshing, and my curiosity into how you have been doing recently in reaching your goals, short-term and long-term. I find when there are gaps in time between blogs, something or someone new has their attention (a good thing)!
……………………………………………………………………………………..I wish you the best Curtis & wish I could have formatted this comment better! – Brian
